In late October, the club planned the activities for American Education Week and gave an all day tea for the teachers. In March, the state F,T.A. Convention was held in Houston. Then along with the Student Council, F.T.A. baked cookies and provided the teachers with goodies for Teachers Appreciation Week. Later in the spring, the members went to ele- mentary schools for Observation Day. In May, the club had a luncheon in honor of the senior members. o Excellence Each month during the year the Colonel Chorus had a party. One evening in Octo- ber they sold eggs as a money-raising proj- ect and ended the day with a pizza party at the Community Center Annex. December brought Christmas dinner at the Country Dinner Playhousef' Bowling and skating enlivened january and Febru- ary. Concerts were given for students as well as the public. Highlights of the fall sched- ule were the pop concert and Christmas concert. The month of March brought excite- ment with the approaching UIL contest. An April tour to Galveston preceded the musical, Oklahomaf, A banquet at the end of May concluded the year. Sbelb Kirby, Donna Newsom, Debra Horny, and Sara Cafpenler begin working on new mum.
