CLASS HISTORY by: RICHARD D. MOSLEY History is a written record of past events. We know that there is nothing so nostalgic as re- membering the past. During the past years we have come to know each other as brothers and sis- ters, rather than classmates alone. We have been challenged with some of life's toughest problems - financial difficulties, per- sonal problems, obstacles, that at times seemed unsurmountableg but we accepted the supreme challenge and won. The first year was one of greenness and innocence at this great adventure of high school entrance. We loved everyone and eagerly sought to be known and loved by everyone. Several made the honor roll and openly beamed at gaining a little fame and recognition so early in the game. We became affiliated with varied organizations of our school such as the Students Library Association, the F.B.L.A., Chorus and other activities. In our second year, excitement began. We had learned the rules, requirements, and social standards of the school. We worked diligently and tried to make high grades for unit credits. Then there were the sports, Baseball, Basketball and Football. Our present Senior Varsity men are: Harold Cleveland, Earnest Jackson, Roscoe Willis and Turner Burley. Some played the entire four years in high school, some two years, but they all played well in spite of frequently tough opponents. 'Evelyn Miles and Irene Dorsey upheld the girls status in the basketball world. Lugenia Beasley retained a high degree of scholasticism throughout these four years. 'We salute her. Lugenia Beasley and Richard Mosley won first and third prizes respectively in an Essay contest entitled What I Plan to Do to Help My Community . Richard D. Mosley also won a S25 bond for Excellence in Library Service. Many students have left South Fulton and entered into other areas of endeavors. We who are about to embark on the sea of life realize that a Power greater than we, will aid our finding a harbor wherein we might serve.
