U Q r 9 ' . . . . . .fy wi tg v K xxx' . lf' rf are pm I ' , x 7 iN' ,Q -5194 tiikifi , 'tr V, I Class Hlstor HE In September of 1951 the Cubs entered n1nth grade We were carefree and happy w1thl1ttle responsrbllity That year our off1cers were Pres1dent, Frank Miklavlc V1ce Pres1dent, Robert Mart1n1 Secretary, Marc1a Peters Treasurer Harold Chappel We had no class activrties that frrst year, but concentrated n improvlng our scholastic ablllties In 1952 as Sophomores we were st1ll cons1dered Cubs by the faculty and the upperclassmen, but our Presxdent James McFalls V1ce President Robert Martinl Secretary Patsy McMillen Treasurer, John Smith decxded It was time we started to grow up Our f1rst activity of the year was to form a Sell1ng Club Our second act1v1ty was something that never had been tried before But aga1n under the very capable assistance of Miss D'Andrea on April 17, we held our Carnxval, whlch proved to be one of the most outstanding events ever held at South Fayette I-hgh As the school year drew to a close, we held our Alumni Dance on May 29 in honor of the school's S1lver Ann1versary As Junior's we were still carefree and happy but we had now learned how to accept responsibility We were no longer Cubs we were beginning to grow We wasted no time in electing our officers for this was to be a very busy year President, Pat y McM1llen V1ce President, Robert Mart1n1 Secretary Marcxa Peters Treasurer, Joan Kenneth did a fine job this year To start off, we or dered class Jackets and our rings and then waxted ln anticipatlon for the day they would arrxve On November 20, we again held our annual Carnival which proved to be a s successful as the first one On March 26 the Class of 1955 presented and ass1st1ng was Mrs A Senchak The play was a wonderful success and w belleve a few oscars could have been handed out that snowy March evenlng for the Cubs proved that even on the stage they were hard to beat On May 7, our May Day Ceremonles were held Jackme Walters was chosen as our Queen and Robert Mart1n1 as our Kxng The theme for our May Day was Stranger in Parad1se and w1th the Queen's Court arrayed 1n all the beaut1ful colors of the ralnbow, 1t truly looked like parad1se Our prom was held on May 14 The theme was Moonl1ght and Ro es It was beautifully decorated and the couples danced dreamlly under the paper moon and vines of clxnging red roses The happiest event of the year was beat1ng Bridgevllle, 19 to 12 Wxth the greatest of help from our departed senrors and the great courage of the future seniors we enjoyed the Wonderful feel 1ng of V1ctory On September 8, 1954, we returned for the last time We had grown up at long last Our offrcers were President, James McFalls V1ce President, Bob Mart1n1 Secretary Patsy McMillen Treasurer, Frank M1klav1c Our boys again played good football, winning f1ve games and loslng four At the end of the season we held our biggest dance, the 'Prgskin Ball Harold Chappel was chosen as our Football King and he chose Roberta Brown as hrs Queen Then began the hard work of put ting our Yearbook to press Our Junlor Senror Play held on March ll and 12 was also a success Under Mr Iagnemma's fine d1rect1on, our yearbook proved to be what we consider a master piece On June 6 1955 the long awaited moment was here The playful Cubs were gone and ID their places were ladies and gentlemen As we formed the flnal pro cess1onal to receive our dlplomas, we all had a tear rn our eye, but only wonder ful memories in our happy hearts 1 nx Thxs page sponsored by cb DAVID JEWELERS, BRIDGEVILLE Kr CARNEGIE O T C U B S G R O W U P ' s ' ' 's ' 5 , .
