CHARITY DRIVE Happiness Is Giving Souths i966 Charity Drive, lasting two weeks and winding up iust before spring vacation, was a whirlwind of activity for all three classes. New ideas were tried and old ones proved as good as ever as the combined total of all classes mounted to 52390. This year there was a special effort to make the final total as large as possible without class competition becoming the most important thing. Sophomores led in money earned with a total of S91l8.87, followed by the seniors with 578629, and the iuniors with 5682.12 Student Body President John Knudsen presented checks to Pearl Buck School, the Childrens Hospital School, and the Russell l-lendricks Fund, Pearl Bucks amount is to be rnatched bythe Federal Government. During the lat-day drive, Axemen worked on sales of doughnuts and popcorn balls, bottle drives, an all-class spaghetti feed, a carnival, car washes, and a student-faculty basketball game.
