E Club members model new shirts. From left: Kip Leonard, Carl Laney, Hank Skade, Ted Wood, Pete Marsh. Organizations E CLUB, symbolizing athletic achievement, was open to any boy who had earned a varsity letter. Members sold programs at football games, checked tickets at all home basketball games, and maintained order at sports events. Presidents Gary Pape and Jud Guitteau, with the help of Adviser l-larry Johnson, planned activities, including the two initiations, a dance co-sponsored with the Pep Club, and an end-ot-thevyear party. THE BOYS' WHITE SHIRT SECTION gave thunderous encouragement to the basketball teams. Led by the yell kings, the boys Hoorayed every basket and sometimes chided the opposition with their yells. Supporting the teams in defeat as well as victory, the White Shirt section always guaranteed on enthusiastic game. PEP BAND, led by student leader Charles Cunningham, provided spirited music at all home basketball games. Kicking ott each game with the National Anthem, the band ployed tor rally routines and halftime shows, ending with the Alma Mater, The group, advised by Robert Moblo, also took part in pep assemblies. Pep Band plays for rally routine during halftime at Willamette game.
