SOCIAL SCIENCE Past and Present Mildred Williams Department head N. Q., Alun Wickham Glen Trusty Burdette Kindred Grace Miller Understanding of America and its world-wide neighbors was the goal of the social science department at South Eugene. Under the direction of Dr. Mildred Williams, work was continued to expand the curriculum. In addition to regular Wtxrld History, US History and Modern Prob- lems, Advanced Placement classes and semester courses in economics and international relations were offered. Plans were also laid for a class in psychology to be added next year. Combined English and history classes were again given, helping students gain greater insight into the relationship between the two subjects through use of the team-teaching method.
