ASSEMBLY COMMITTEE The Assembly Committee has the job of planning the assemblies for the Student Body. During the course of the year, this committee selects and plans the type of assemblies. 'E7 ROW I - Ann Husk, Marilyn Pike, Rae Marie Perkey, Diane Bressler, Gretchen Koenig, Peggy Fuller. ROW 2 - Kay Brown, Bob Kudrle, Jim Orrell, Larry Hi- rons, Sue Horn. ACTIVITIES COMMITTEE The Activities Committee, the smallest of the committees, is one of the most important. lt determines what students are eligible to hold school offices by checking their records. ROW I - Miss McDermott, Trudy Judd, Brauna Rubenstein. ROW 2 - Rob Mills, Tom Ness, Miss Miller. SOCIAL COMMITTEE The Social Committee assists and advises clubs and organizations on dances, potlucks and other social functions. It is the purpose of this committee to help promote social unity in the school so that no one feels left out. ROW I - Sue Hill, Mary Ann lNIiller. Ann Christensen. Ann McCallum, Nancy Pitchford. STATELY SHE STANDS Stately she stands, our Alma Mater Bright with the sunlight of youth, Down thru the years our Alma Mater Has stood for brave honor and truth. Blood-red her vines clinging fingers Bind her walls close to our hearts, Spring-like her memory lingers Through the years lead us apart. Each stone in her white, gleaming portals, A symbol on symbols piled high A monument glowing immortal A sign of Youth's star in lifejs sky. GOVERNMENT COMMITTEES ROW I - Ginny Brooke, Ann Street, Georgia Willis, Kay Edwards, Kathy Racely. ROW 2 - John Sundquist, Joann Lynch, Larry Trippett, Cherry Pink- staff. ROW 3 -- Nancy Young, Suellen Hemenway, Jan Garrison, Sharon Soward, Dana Rodman. RECOGNITION AND PUBLICITY COMMITTEE The purpose of the Recog- nition and Publicity Com- mittee is to keep the students and school patrons informed on information concerning South Eugene High School activities and events. Mem- bers prepare news releases of the activities and submits them to all communication media in this area while others work on promotion ideas for Student Body ac- t1v1t1es. ROW I - Linda Mackprang, Deana Hendrickson, Judie Brown, Carol Parkin- son. ROW 2 - Pete Geersten, Cherry Pinkstaff, Mary Ellen Juilfs, Sandra Clark, Neil Walker. CONSTITUTION AND BY-LAWS COMMITTEE The Constitution and By-Laws Committee helps the clubs as well as the student body make up their constitutions. The club consti- tutions must go through the committee for approval and cor- rection. Then it goes to the Stu- dent Council for final approval. BUDGET AND FINANCE The purpose of the Budget and Finance Committee is to prepare a budget of income and expendi- tures for the student body, and to keep the expenditures within the expected income. In addition to preparing the budget, this corn- mittee allocates concessions to clubs. ROW I - Beverley McMillan, Gloria Reinertson, Carol Scott, Kay Willemsen. ROW 2 - Karen Walberg, Charlotte Potter, Jane Lawrence, Debbie Byrnes. ROW 3 - Norm Miller, Judy Hearn, Met Hearn, Jerry Lesan. POLICIES AND PRACTICES The purpose of the Policies and Practices Committee is to review the existing policies and practices of SEHS in relation to problems or situations that develop. This committee presents its recommen- dations to the Student Council and Administration after much discussion and investigation.
