Our team won, 27-7. Al- though played on the sophomore level, this fine game marked the start of a lasting tradition. The team was divided into two squads, the A squad and the B squad. The A squad played in J,V, games besides their own sched- ule of three games. Their soph rec- ord was Zwins, l loss. This year's team consisted of both Sophomores and Jun- iors. The Junior Varsity season started with a 7-O victory over Beaverton. The Junior Varsity also played Roseburg, Albany, Cottage Grove and Springfield, The Junior Varsity had a very tough schedule, Both the coach, Mr, Kane, and all the players should be congratulated on their fine efforts. Although not a well known sport, cross country at SEHS is gaining in popularity. The cross country team, coached by Hank Kuchera, won six out of eight meets this year.
