Allen Crocket Jim Muhr This is our spirit. 42 Al Reddig Ray. Auen Axemen Bounce Bulldogs The mighty Eugene Axemen stretched their winning streak to five by rolling over flu-rid- den Albany. The score, more impressive than the actual game, was 28-O. Euge-ne's first score came on a 3l-yard pass from Charlie Warren to Johnny Polhemus. This was early in the first quarter, The second TD came when a Warren pass found Greg Willener standing alone in the end zone. The Axemen marched 73 yards in nine plays to score the third TD. Larr Campbell car- ried the ball on the final play. In the fourth quarter, Polhe- mus, playing a sharp game, slipped nine yards to make the score 28-O. Ken Tuttle

This was really u battle. Axemen Cool Pirates The Axemen snapped Marshfield's 40-game winning streak by defeating them 9-O1 The first half was dominated by the Axemen's great defense, sparked by Rich Cerkoney, Twice Marshfield was in scoring position, but both times the Axemen's defense tightened up. ln the last few minutes of the second quarter, Johnny Polhemus tackled Marshfield's Gary Rossi in the end zone for the only score of the half. In the third quarter the Axemen scored when Warren threw a two-yard pass to Polhemus, who was all alone in the end zone. The rest of the game was mostly defensive. The game ended as Charlie Wilson intercepted a Marshfield pass and ran 3l yards to the nine yard line, This was a very hard-fought game and was certainly a fine team victory. Nobody is going to get the ball away from me. 'IAT
