Christmas llssemhl On the last Friday before Christmas vaca- tion, the students of South Eugene High have their annual Christmas Assembly. This year the assembly was the some as the previous year. The assembly opened as the Purple Pipers came caroling down the aisle. The next part of the assembly was a flash-back of two Christmas stories. The first story told ot a little girl writing a letter to the editor ot the New York Times. The girl has heard that there was no such a thing as Santa Claus, and she thought it the editor said there was a Santa Claus it must certainly be true. The next skit told of the creation ot the song, Silent Night. The assembly continued with singing by the Girls Choir, and the A Cap- pella Choir. The assembly was concluded with the old graduates coming on stage to sing the Hallelujah Chorus with the A Cappella. Students' attention is held by carolers. The cld folks watch their friends leave.
