This court reigns over the festival. l South lugene's lirst Homecoming established a tradition This makes you appreciate the ivy league look? l l2 October I9 was a day for celebrating, talking to old friends, or for just reminiscing old high school years, This was REUNION AT HOMECOMING, This much-awaited event began with the registration of the past graduates of EHS and UHS. Seven hundred and thirty-five alums registered. After an excellent luncheon, the REUNION AT HOME- COMING assembly was presented. An ancient film, pro- duced in l93O, showing typical life at EHS, highlighted the program. An old-time style show also was presented. All homecomings must have parades, This one was no exception, The student body float carried the lovely home- coming princesses. Other floats carriedeverything from a preview of Mrs. McThing to Service Club members in cars of pre 2O's vintage. The grand day was capped off by a sharp football game against Hudson's Bay lVancouver, Wash,l. Just before the play started, the Homecoming Court was presented and the queen announced, Sandy Cook was elected to reign. Princesses were Julie Hampton, Jane Ch'en, Sandy Stuart and Leslie Lee. After REUNION AT HOMECOMlNG was all over, one could only say that it was an unforgettable day, and be so right?

Mrs. McThing, o delightful story with a fantastic plot, was presented as our first school play of the year. This unique story centered around a rich boy who, by the word of a witch lMrs, McThingl , was cast into a foul neighborhood. He became o member of the Shontyland Pool Hall mob. The mob consisted of three softhoodlums. His mother soon suffered the same fate. Eventually the two, plus the mob, were able to return to their home, Larue Manor. The little daughter of Mrs, McThing talked her mother into letting them return. . One can never forget the scenes in the pool hall when Poison Eddie's mother stampeded through the place, or when Ellsworth played jazz on his imaginary piano. The play, although plagued by flu casualties, certainly exceeded all expectations and was a great success. Grand finale! jji. '-',. : 'f ,. J' . 'r.- 5 . .-ir A A .... .7
