As autumn leaves are falling, another school year is go- ing by. Students stand on the campus casually discussing their thoughts of the moment. Calling about the yearbook Putting up a quotation. Starting, the Ifjew ear The steps at the left wing of the building are always a favorite meeting place for the students. Sandra Bridgers, Bobbie Taylor, Hartwell Fuller, and James Williams greet each other after three long months of the summer vacation. Mr. Clary came back to visit us on our first day of school. In our opening assembly, he introduced to us our new principal, Mr. Ola H. Forrest. The elections committee consisting of Mr. Baker, Wayne Forbes, and Kaye Hathaway work out plans for the first election of the year — secretary of Student Council. After long years of patiently (?) waiting, the seniors are thrilled to reach the front seats of the auditorium. Mere We jStudy — lAJork --- Sandra Sumerlin made a sketch of the building to be used by Mr. Forrest on the cover of the Teachers Manual of 1957-58. Life for the freshman boys could have been complex on the first days of school. But Durwood Alien came to their rescue by guiding them to classes. Here they were on their way to the agriculture and shop building. a u -And PL Students quickly learned to make their way at activity period to the gym where the student store made pepsi colas, nabs, etc., available. Because of You Reviewing the high school years by the events recorded in this annual, we are not unaware of those who made them possible — you, our parents. Perhaps you have thought many times we did not realize the love you have for us. But we remember — the P. T. A. suppers you served — the plays and ball games you watched so proudly — the anxiety you felt when we became upset — the pride of our accomplishments — the encouragement you gave when we were sure we had failed — the many quiet talks that helped us grow up — the personal sacrifices that provided the extra money for the party dress or the new suit. We do remember. We meant to tell you so many times. A great big thank-you for making those happy years possible. May this annual remind you of those high school years we shared together. THE SENIORS BOOSTERS Our sincere appreciation is extended to you for your contribution. It indicates your interest in us, our project, and our school. Thank you for your support and helping make our yearbook possible. Rocky Mount Wilson Macclesfield H. B. KINCHELOE DR. H. FUERST MILBURN FELTON R. W. DANIEL WAYNE HAWKINS C. H. WISE JOE WHEELER MRS.
