7 . w, f is .Sf A What is happiness? Happiness means dnferent things to dyferent people. To the faculty it may be willing students who stay after school to participate in extra- curricular activities. Seniors may look upon happiness as accepting new respon- sibilities and making plans for college. To the juniors happiness is getting class rings, symbols that they are now upper- classmen, and being on the court of honor for the prom. Happiness to the sopho- mores isjoining a new club and being elected to the Student Council. Experienc- ing the excitement of the first day of high school and meeting newfriends is the freshrnanfs definition of happiness while Cardinal athletes think of it as a victory sweep. Happiness may mean diferent things to diferentpeople. Yet, there is one thing all loyal South Siders agree upon-Happiness is South Division High School. 2

We Pay Tribute To A Leader MR. ALEXANDER E. MORSTAD For your thirty-nine years of service and loyalty to South Division High School We the students gratefully and proudly dedicate our 7967 Cardinal Annual, the fifty-fourth yearbook ofthe school to you. We are thankful for your leadership in so many of our activities and sports and for building up in each of us a great ad- miration for the many jine traditions of the oldest high school in the city. This loyalty, this shoulder-to-shoulder spirit, which prompted you to say, They can take me out ofSouth Divi- sion, but they cannot take South Divi- sion out ofme, has become so infectious that it is now the ideal of the thousands of graduates that you sent on their way to adulthood. We hope you will continue to have fond memories of South Division, and we wish you happiness and co tentrnent in your retirement.
