1 FAST FOOD” SPIRIT WEEK This year's theme for Spirit Week was Fast Food Restaurants . The 7th grade was out to win us over with Flardees . The 8th grade came in 3rd with Burger King”. The 9th grade fried a 2nd with Kentucky Fried Chicken . Mr. Porter scooped up a 1st for the 10th graders with Cow Palace . The 11th grade shined their golden arches with McDonalds . The seniors brought a crowd from miles around to show them their White Castles . The fans showed they would follow their Cougars in any direction, inside out or backwards on Monday, as that was the dress up day. On Tuesday, everyone came looking outrageous on Outrageous hair day . On Wednesday the Cougar fans traveled back in time to the 50’s. On Thursday they traveled Back to the Future in the year 2001 . Friday was the traditional Maroon and White day, with a fantastic pep session. South lost to Rushville in overtime by only 3 points in an exciting sectional game. 1. The Cougars make the Lions Shake ! 2. We didn't know Mr. Porter worked at Cow Palace . 3. The Juniors devour lion burgers. 4. The seventh grade wants to win you over . 5. ON GOLDEN POND After many weeks of 6:30 A.M. practices, practices after school, and Saturday practice work sessions, March 12 finally came. The spring drama production this year was the award winning On Golden Pond”. The play was held in the school cafeteria on March 12 and 13 and it drew a large crowd each evening. Although the production was greatly enjoyed by the audience, it was enjoyed most by the cast, crew, and directors. The cast was: Norman Thayer, Gabe Graue; Ethel Thayer, Lora Reed; Chelsea Thayer-Ray, Dyveke Hooton; Bill Ray, Rob Riddell; Billy Ray, Jr., Jason Overmeyer; Charlie Martin, Craig Billieu.
