And we all wondered, What Is A SENIOR? Webster's dictionary defines SENIOR as being a person with higher standing or rank. Well finally at last we have reached that prestigious title. Can you remember when we used to write '86 on the school bus windows only to be laughed at and told we'd never make it or getting thrown out of one bus seat into another because an upperclassman wanted that seat? We have shared a lot together from grade school to entering S.D. as scared little seventh graders, from learning to drive to the spectacu- lar SENIOR PARADE . There have been good times and bad, but now they prepare to move on. SENIOR year is a busy one. SENIORS choose colleges, plan parties, and go to all the school activities they can for one more time as stu- dents. The class motto was, The Journey of a Thou- sand Miles, Starts with a Single Step . They chose peach and ivory as the class colors and the rose as the class flower. This year's officers were President, Jay Hermann; Vice-President, Isi Dust; Secretary, Christy Gault and Treasurer, Lynette Idlewine. SENIORS not pictured are Mike Wright, Andy Hobbs and Karen Spicer. This year's head sponsor was Mr. Layton along with Mr. Deniston, Mrs. Elliott and Miss Stahl. Said by some to be the hardest year of high school, while others say the easiest, the SEN- IORS take both hardships and advantages in stride and make their last year the most memo- rable. 86 Seniors Dana Adams Andrea Billieu James Burton Michael AmRhein Chris Buchanan Adam Bush Mike Bailey Doug Burkman Kim Carder Seniors 87 Melinda Cooper Chuck Dougherty Gloria Elliott Robb Cornett Isi Dust Jeff Elliott Brian Cunningham Jimmy Edmondson Mark Ewing 88 Seniors Vance Foster Joe Hamilton Jay Hermann Kevin Fetterman Christy Gault Gayle Harlow Joe Fivecoat Suzanne Hall Mike Harrell Seniors 89 Ron Hobbs Randy Hollin Joan Johannigman Loren Hodson Lynette Idlewine Anne Johnson LeAnn Holcomb Lee Joerger Brian Kelly 90 Seniors Steve Laws Eric Miller Becky Muckerheide Tim Lewis Chris Mobley MaryBeth McCormick Ardena Manlief Fred Moore Monica McCullough Seniors 91 Steve Niese Bill Powers Willy Rigby Shane Ogle Jeff Quicksell Wayne Robinson Heidi Phelps John Richards Carrie Ruble 92 Seniors Randy Runion Jeff Schoettmer Jenny Schwering Bobby Sackett Sharon Schoettmer Angie Stephens Vicki Sample Ed Schwering Tracy Sullivan Seniors 93 Mark Chase Lorrie Ward Rick Wills Lanie Wheeler Benny Wright Brenda Wiggins Kelli Young 94 Seniors Seniors 95 96 Seniors Seniors 97 CLASS OF 1987 CLASS OF 1987 CLASS OF 1987 This year, the Junior class was involved with magazine sales, Homecoming, Spirit Week, and the Prom. But I hope you will be able to bring back your memories of last year with COUGARAMA '86. The struggle to get the yearbook done this year has been a long, as well as a rough, one. There always seemed to be some door slamming in our faces. The biggest, as well as most aggravating, has been the number of people actually doing work on the staff. I'm sure some of you have either heard of, or know of, the situation. There was nothing we could do. If you think you would like to help with the yearbook next year, why not let someone, such as next year's editor or sponsor know. Any contribution you could give would be of great help. If you happen to be looking through the pages of the 1986 book and find you start to complain, remember exactly what you did to help. I don't mean to make anyone mad, or to lecture anyone, I just want you to understand the problems that we had to face. Although, I have had many headaches with the yearbook, I have also enjoyed serving as this year's editor. But it couldn't have been possible without the help and support of many people. First, I would like to say Thank You to Mr. Tanner, for being a very helpful and well organized sponsor. Next, Lora, Maretta and Tricia for being the only three to actually contribute their time to work on the yearbook. Also thanks to Kipp Stewart for being a great Herff Jones representative and for taking time out of his busy schedule to help. Mr. Whitaker, Mrs. Tichenor, Gabe Graue, Billy Seegers, William Brewer, and Tracey Creeger for taking yearbook photos, and Steve Laws for being yearbook photographer. To my brother, Reggie, Thank You for designing the division pages. To Mrs. MOM Reynolds a very big Thank You for putting up with all my yearbook messes in the back room. Also, Lynette, Ardena, Randy, Bobby, Mike and whoever else. Thanks for all your help. Remember, Do You Know Who This Is? Mr. Bartel, Mr. Cox, Mr. Hickey, Mr. Hileman, and Mrs. Hudson a very big Thank You for letting me out of your classes when we had deadlines to meet and pictures to take. Also, Darian Gatewood and Andy Bell for going to the Ball State workshop when no one else could. And last but not least I would like to say Thank You to my family for putting up with all my grouchy moods. I really hope each of you enjoys this issue of the COUGARAMA because it was made for you!! Sincerely, i Lanie Wheeler Editor P.S. If you happen to find a mistake in the COUGARAMA just remember it was probably out there for a reason. 1986 Cougaramo Staff 147 PEOPLE OF 86 A Able.
