ENTERING THE EIGHTIES Here we are, entering the eight- ies— a new era with new feelings. Who would have guessed ten years ago how the country has changed? Who knows how it will be ten years from now? With traditional American values once again sweeping the nation, we hope to keep up our standard of liv- ing while inflation raises prices, jobs are hard to find, and a feeling of de- spair is in the air. There are brights things in the eighties too. This is the era of new- wave music, “Preppy” clothes, and fuel-efficient cars! 1. Mr. McIntyre and Mr. Layton relax in the lounge. 2. Larry McCullough and Kathy Crip- pen as the lovers in Rest Assured. 3. Ms. Fellows pedaling away tor the faculty. 4. Ev- eryone loves a slow dance. 5. Friends and Good Times We had good friends and good times as we entered the eighties. In the fall we went to football games, the homecoming, the Grand Prix, and had end of sea- son picnics and weiner roasts. We worked on the floats for the homecoming parade and we dressed up for the photographer who took our pictures for the yearbook. We went to movies at theatres with our boyfriends and girl- friends and we even saw one here — Animal Crackers. 4
