WRESTLERS RETURN In 1981 wrestling returned to South under the coaching of Mr. Stokes. It was a rough first year with a 1 -6 season and a tie with North Decatur, but the wrestlers will be ready next year. Team award winners were Ed Hol- lin, MVP and most pins; Ken Blank- man, most improved wrestler. Tim Hollin served as team manager. The only win came over Waldron by a score of 42-29. CAGERS FINISH 6-14 Under first-year coach Kerry Prather, the varsity basketball team had many goals this year. One of those goals was to gain respect. Al- though the team finished with a 6-14 record (3-4 in the conference), they did just that. The Cougars were al- ways within inches of victory, with fate sometimes against them. All the games were close, except for the one with the North Decatur Chargers. Even though the team worked hard in practice, it also had fun. The players went to a Pacer game and saw an Indiana University practice and game. Also a Free-Throw- Athon was held to help raise mon- ey for the athletic department. 1.
