Varsity Football The Varsity Football team recorded a very re- spectable 5-5 season. The highlight of the season was in beating arch-rivals. North Decatur! The first time we played them, we won the bucket. As most everyone will remember it rained quite a bit and everyone was soaked! But it was well worth it. as we won 30 to 6. As the final seconds ticked away, cries of “WE GOT THE BUCKET! were heard, by everyone. The second time we played them, we again emerged victorious. The score: 40 to 19. At the fall sports banquet, another highlight, Tony Wills received Most Valuable Player and Gary Richardson was awarded Most Outstanding Back. Of the linemen, Dirk Cooper and Matt Brancamp were voted Most Outstanding. Karl Knight received a trophy for having the most de- fensive points and Brian Huff received the Most Improved Player Award. By losing only eight Seniors, the outlook for next year's team is very bright. You must agree ...we should be very PROUD! After all, we do have the BUCKET!!! Senior Captains.
