S.D.H.S. is . . . mixed emotions South Decatur is made up of smiling faces, determination, spirit, warmth, and friendship. It’s filled with mixed emotions and stu- dents from many different backgrounds. The students enjoy themselves in both academics and sports. Of course school is hard work and a lot of studying. However, an honest effort is made between students and teachers to understand each other. This understanding helps to provide an atmosphere within the school which is ideal for learning and excelling. the outcome of the last offensive play. Pep Sessions S.D. Pep Sessions are Gr—eat! F.F.A., F.H.A., the Band, and the cheerleaders sponsored the pep sessions this year. On imitation day the students im- itated basketball players, and on King’s Day, the students were re- quired to treat the players like kings. Farmers’ Day, Button Day, Hat Day, and Maroon and White Day succeeded in building more school spirit. Also, during sectional time, classes competed for the spirit stick by creating showcases and preparing skits. S.D. choir students rejoice in the death of a North Decatur Charger by singing The Old Gray Mare. -f Steve Louden presents Kevin Hall with a pitcher of water so he can pour it on. 17
