• • • Your Business Is To learn the mechanics of good busi- ness, students needed to learn many skills, one of which was General Busi- ness. It set up a good foundation and helped to prepare the students for Ac- counting. These, along with the other fine courses, of Typing, Shorthand, and the mini-courses, helped many students to progress into good paying obs, directly after graduation. This year Mr. Race instructed a few mini- courses that familiarized students with filling out income tax forms for per- sonal and business use. There was also a course on banks and banking, that helped the students learn how a bank is operated. All business classes were visited by a representative from South- ern Ohio College. Freshman Biology gave a general view of life from the disection of frogs to osmosis in plants. Many science courses specialized in certain areas. Human Anatomy students disected fe- tal pigs, while students in Botany in- vestigated poisonous plants. At first in- experienced chemistry students blew up test tubes, but as the year went on they became capable chemists. Seniors in Physics class discovered how light reacts in several experiments. 19
