l l i l l lScabbarcl And Blade il Scabbard and Blade is a national military honor society with local chapters, called companies, located iii l3l leading colleges which have ROTC programs. 'llhe chapter at Tech is designated as Company F, 12th legiment. The purposes of the society are primarily tl raise the standard of military education in American c lleges and universities, to encourage and foster the esential qualities of professional officers, and to pro- .ote friendship and good fellowship among the cadet officers. Membership is by election only and is based upon nierit. All cadets taking advanced ROTC are eligible fdlr election to Scabbard and Blade. Activities sponsored by S. 8a B. this year were a of Skyline Drive, a trip to the V.A. hospital Hot Springs to entertain the veterans there, the annual Ball, and the spring whitewashing of the M M-Hill. The club competes in the Northern Black Hills Small Bore Rifle League which has seven member teams. Scott Maren is the president.
