Jie A. I. CH. E. The student chapter of A.I.Ch.E. is affiliated with the national professional in- stitute of the same name. Their purpose is to promote the professional development of their members and to contribute to the expansion and improvement of chemical en- gineering at the School of Mines and Technol- ogy through activities involving the fuculty and members. gg xg-U0 The Dorm Association which consists of all dormitory residents, works to coor- dinate the activities ol' the dormitories and to formulate or change dormitory policies as the students see fit. The Executive Council of the Dorm Association consists of the officers elected at large and a floor representative from each floor of each dormitory. Pictured to the immediate left: Pres. Surbcck Center Council serves as the Social Director at the School of Mines. The Council programs and directs the social, cultural, and recreational activities for the Tech students. The Council is composed ol' both students and faculty members. Activities undertaken by the Council include the Watermelon Bust with the crowning of Miss Watermelon Bust . the Student-Faculty Art Exhibit. the College Bowl, the 40 foot Oar Bagg dance. the Variety Show, and the Spring Daze carnival and picnic.
