A light drizzle didn't dampen the enthusiasm of Hardrocker fans, who lined Rapid City's Main Street to watch the 23 floats, nine bands, political candi- dates, and other parade units go past. Freshmen felt some of their frustrations as underlings to the seniors on M-Hill were turned into victory when their spotted, over-turned Dalmatian, complete with movable head and legs, won Grand Prize in the pa- rade. The Delta Sigma Phi float, depicting a skunk with the words Skunk the Pointers, shared Best Spirit of M-Day prize with Alpha Chi Sigma's Treat- ment Plant. The prize for the Most Beautiful float went to the Campus Wives. Later that afternoon the Hardrockers grabbed a 13-3 victory over the Southern Pointers. The Point- ers, who led at halftime, exhibited a sticky defense. The Hardrocker defense proved even better, holding Southern scoreless while the offense came through with two third-quarter touchdowns, giving Tech its third consecutive homecoming victory. ffitlll, lf . , , , '. x . t r flu it ,-wut' P .
