l Weger, born in Lawrenceville, Illinois, received his B.A. egree from William Iewell college in 1962 and earned his Masters Und Ph.D. from the University ot Illinois. He belongs to the Amer- ican Math Society and has served on the Research Committee in 1967 and 1968. Dr. Weger is noted for his friendliness and help- ftiluess towards his students. 140 OUTSTANDING TEACHER A WARD Dr. Fraser announced the awarding of three 31,000 Good Teacher Awards to members of the college faculty'by the Standard Oil flndianaj Foundation. The awards were presented to Professors William Coyle, Ronald Weger, and William Renter in recognition 1 1 . l T l 1 1 E I. of outstanding contributions to the educational programs at the college. Initial nominations of faculty members are made by the student body with final selection by a combined student faculty committee Coyle, a native of Philip, received his bachelors degree from S.D.S.M. Sl T., graduating with honors. He earned his Mas- ters degree trorri the University of Missouri and has done interim work at Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Leigh University and Purdue University. Professor Coyle joined the Tech staff in 1947 and is now serving as Civil Engineering department head. He holds membership in numerous professional societies and organizations including American Society of Civil En- gineers, National Society of Professional Engineers, and American Society of En- gineering Education.
