It is composed of approximately seventy-tive stu- dents who practice every Monday night in the Liberal Arts Building Band Room for one and one-halt hours. A home concert and an eastern concert tour in the spring are the highlights of the season. The con- certs include individual talent, small groups, and selections by the entire glee club. Dr. Charles Thielen is the Director and Edgar Swanson is the Ac- companist forthe Singing Engineers.

Hummel, Harold Eatern, Ioek Strid, Mike lohnson. Third row: The Drill and Crucible Club is a student chapter oi the American Institute of Mining, Metallurgical, and Petroleum Engineers. Last year the chapter was honored as being one ot the five top AIME chapters in the country. The one-hundred member group pro- motes interest in the Mineral Industries through an open house and by varied programs at their regular meetings. This year the group presented the school T' l V 2 'QM 51 f with a six foot high carving ot the school mascot Grubby. The club also took titty members to the National AIME convention in Denver. Other activities include an annual S50 scholarship to a sophomore in the Mineral Industries, a student-faculty banquet, and two infamous picnics during the Year. Funds are raised through the sale of minerals worldwide and pop on campus.
