Triangle Fraternity is a national frater- nity of engineers and architects established for the purpose of creating a social and professional environment in which enduring friendship may be formed. South Dakota Mines chapter of Triangle is one of 22 active chapters spread across the nation. It was created from the petitioning organization, Phi Kappa Phi, in l93O. To further the purpose of Triangle, the chapter provides a home where its members can live and work together. In the chapter home, an environment exists which is con- ducive to improvement academically, profes- sionally, and socially. Among the social functions sponsored by Triangle are the fol- lowing: Thanksgiving Banquet, Christmas Formal, Tom and Ierry Party, Mardi Gras Costume Ball, Spring Formal, Pizza Party, Alumni Picnic, and numerous other informal gatherings.
