The Singing Engineers started strong this year with l2O men trying out but only 66 malcing the tinal grade. The select group, resplendent in white dinner iaclcets and black trousers, presented their annual winter concert to a packed house at the Rapid High School auditorium early in February in preparation tor the spring tour. The tour included such towns as Mobridge. Aberdeen. Watertown and Sioux Falls high schools and an appearance on Sioux Falls' KELO-TV as a bonus. The usual special acts including the ever-popular Engin-aires quartet aided and abetted the Singing Engineers at all appearances and represented the Singing En- gineers at numerous public gatherings throughout the Blaclc l'lills area. The director is Don Tuttle. and the accompanist is Edgar Swanson. Otticers are: Raman Briggs, President: Lee Hanson, Vice-president: Everett Kierlutt, Secretary-treasurer, Floyd'Brown.
