' l ann ff sa llam Quill and Scroll The South Dade Chapter of Ouill and Scroll, the International Honorary Society for High School Journalists, strives to advance the appreciation for fine writing while enabling talented students to participate in journalistic activities. The members of Quill and Scroll are required to be in the upper third of their class in general scholastic standing and must have done superior work in some phase of Journalism or school publications work, such as vvriting, editing, business manage- ment or production. Potpourri, South Dade's Literary Magazine, is published by the members of Quill and Scroll. Creative Expression The Creative Expression Club, sponsored by Miss Elaine Stokes, serves to promote the enjoyment of cultural activities. A trip to see Gone With the Wind was one of the club's first projects. Such cultural enrichments as concerts, art exhibits, and plays encourage a further appreciation of the human- ities in relation to life. Potpourri Staff Each year Potpourri, South Dade's literary magazine, proves to be one of the most interesting collections of student's creative work. Original short stories, poetry, essays and art work are gathered, edited and published as an extra project of Ouill and Scroll and Southernaire staff. The Senior Class Prophecy, a regular feature of the Potpourri never fails to be one of the most amusing articles. Under the supervision of Mrs. Estaver, students work throughout the second semester to produce this magazine.
