The Pep Club is an organization that encourages enthusiasm, school spirit and good sportsmanship among the entire student body. The only requirement for membership is that a student uphold ava'age grades and be able to attend the numerous athletic events throughout the school year. This is the only club which has a special reserved cheering section at all football games. Many of the exciting events of the school year were sponsored by the Pep Club. The annual motorcade to Harris Field on Thanksgiving morning and the array of colorful balloons added to the enthusiastic spirit as the Rebels recorded a victory over the Palmetto Panthers. Victory dances and artistic goal-post signs added greatly to South Dade's successful football season. The spirit of Homecoming Week was highlighted by the Pep-Clube sponsored Homecoming Dance. Under the leadership of Mr. James Alexander, the Pep Club managed to encourage school spirit and sportsmanship through- out the student body.
