The Varsity Singers The Varsity Singers perform in numerous public and private functions such as school assemblies, concerts, public programs, private clubs and music clinics as a service to the community. Membership is open only to members and alumni, and the group of talented students represent an honors group of young singers. Concert Chorus Chorus: South Dade's eighty voice chorus, under the direction of Mr. Alan Fetterman, may be heard harmonizing during second period. The chorus provides musical entertainment for the Thanksgiving and Christmas assemblies held at the school. Much time is spent preparing concert programs and in perfecting the chorus for the annual trip to the Festival of Music. Ticket and candy sales help to finance the trip. QSM? . M ajorettes Sparkle, color, and excitement! The majorettes brighten up a band, football game, or a pep rally with their twirling specia lities. They have the honor of pinning the football and basketball teams with kisses lchocolatel, bubblegum, and candy bars. They also decorate the goal posts and bleachers. Under the leadership of Miss Patty Bowden, the majorettes accompany the band to marching contests, parades and special events. The Rebelettes work with the band members to earn money to go to Washington, D.C. and they contribute much to the success of the band.
