National Honor Society Students who maintain the academic average of 3.5 for three consecutive semesters are eligible for membership in the Na- tional Honor Society. Aside from scholastic excellence, the stu- dents' high school career must reflect evidence of Leadership, Character, and Service. Under the co-sponsorship of Mrs. Lou Huggins and Mrs. Julia DeMilly, the South Dade Chapter of The National Honor Society holds the distinction of being the oldest club at South Dade, having been established in 1953. The Society acts as school historian by collecting all issues of The Southernaire. One of the largest projects of this club is its tutorial service. I NATIONAL HONOR SOC ETY ,ff .
