South Dade High School SILVER KNIGHT NOMINEES The purpose of the Silver Knight Award program is to reco ' gnize the service of outstanding Seniors in Dade County High Schools so they may realize their leadership responsibilities to them- munity. The essential qualification for a selves and to their com Silver Knight Nominee is SERVICE. The Silver Knight Award in each of fourteen categories is given to the individual whose record of service best exemplifies the unselfish use of his eneral measurements to determine an abilities to help others. G individual's qualifications are applied according to Achievement, Leadership, and Character. High Scholarship is important, but it is not enough. Leadership through wide interest and member- mmunity organizations is important but ship in school and co it is not enough. Achievement through scholastic honors, avvards and citations supports the individual's claim to recognition but it is not enough. An unparalleled record in SERVICB is the essence. , - J il W .. MARY HICKSON-Music The candidate has displayed outstanding achievement in vocal or instrumental music, but exceptional talent is not neces- sarily the determining qualification. She has been the in- spiring force in a musical group and leader in related projects.
