FOREWQRD The 1959 Memoirs staff has attempt- ed to recreate the warmth and the spirit and to embellish on these pages all the things that we would remember and cherish in later years. In order that you may recall the numerous academic, cultural, and social activities en- joyed by all, we have taken care to include at least a part of each. Included are Your classmates, teachers, and counselors, so you might not forget their companionship or their ready aid. To make a unified picture of the life at South Charleston High School, we picked o theme to join the old with the new- the old battered, cracked walls as paralleled to the ever new spirit of the youth at S.C.H.S. Since cars and their ceoseless changing are almost synonymous with youth, this theme has been carried throughout our book as much as possible, and we hope you enjoy it and appreciate its purpose.
