The Class of 1963 was first to graduate from SC. In 1964, with the entire school participating, the ground-breaking ceremonies for the new South Cen- tral School took place. John Dunk was the superintendent and Ralph Claudy was the band director. Stu- dent participants were Earl Cunning- ham, Bruce Deardorff, and Carol Lloyd. An elementary addition was built in 1971 and a new high school addition in 1979. 3

Kay To Education South Central has a number of teachers who have given SC Students many, many years of service. We would like to honor those teachers who have been in the South Central Community School Corporation at least 15 years or more. On this page there are five elementary teachers and one administrator who meet this requirement. On the next page there are nine secondary teachers who have been at SC for 15 years or more. B.A.: M.A Goshen College Ball Stale University A Roy Gropp, 15 years at SC B.S.: Ball State University M.S.: Valparaiso University Elementary Conversion: Bethel College Post Graduate: IU-Purdue Kathleen Long. 15 years at SC B.A.: Ball State University M.A.: Valparaiso University Other elementary teachers who have been here almost 15 years are: Sue Braden, Nancy Conlon, Dottie Davis, and Bruce Johnson. Mr. Johnson took a year's leave to spend time in Africa, and took graduate work at the Universities of London, Paris, Moscow. SC staff members with 15 years or more of service are: Mary Wakeman, secretary; Lue Verna Sheperd, cook; Lucy Heironimus, nurse; Marsha Masterson, aide; Gene Bluhm, Cecil Nablo, and Roy Webb, Jr., bus drivers.
