Eight main areas are offered including woods, Inetals, plastics, 111achines, Wu? .. ' . - - V.-:ow welding, power mechanics, electronics, and introductory hydraulics. Although there are Classroom sessions, the Inain exuphasis is placed on practical experience in the partic- ular field Chosen by each student. This en- ables him to evaluate the various areas of Industrial Arts, and to Choose for further study the one most appealing to him. Mechanical Drawing is a separate part of the Industrial Arts Depart- ment. The first year class, called Mechanical Drawing, studies basic drawing, introductory machines, and introductory drafting. The second year Class, called Advanced Drafting, spends the first semester on ma- chine drafting and the second on architectural drawing. These Classes help the students gain an elementary backgrOund in architecture, engineer- ing, and drafting which will give the student an advantage in college. Drivefs Training This Class is taught during school and as a summer school class. During the 1965-66 school year, Mr. Morris Goodnight instructed the students on safe driving prac- tices in the summer and Mr. George Fettinger taught the winter Classes. vsoum cemm. scuoot-i DRIVER EDUCATION CAR i '5qu mvmtw :Ic :mm X Agriculture Agriculture 1, II, III, and IV offer those students inter- ested in agriculture, subjects ranging frOm the basics in farming to advanced econornic and animal husbandry.
