Swan Drivers Cam K .w i. 5;an Sizzlidcts h 4 Consolidation brought about the necessity of new school buses which are seen in the background of the two pictures above. On the left, are the Union Mills bus drivers, Paul Yelton. Cecil Nablo, Fred Satkoski. and Orville Ehrick. On the right are bus drivers Leslie Shei, Hanna Township; Lloyd Mohlke and Stanley Brndek, Clin- ton Township. They transport the high school students from Clinton and Hanna Townships to South Cen- tral High School. gustadians Albert Schneider, on the left has been cus- todian of the school building at Union Mills for 28 years. He can recall the day when the moth- ers or fathers of some of the juniors and seniors were attending school here. Since then. many changes have taken place. Before a Stoker was installed, it was necessary to heat the building by hand firing the furnace every half hour. On the right is Leo Howell, who has been here for nine years. Because of the greater en- rollment of the school this year, more space be- ing utilized and requiring cleaning, the two custodians are kept busy at all times. Kitchen Staff Mrs. Emma Thomas, on the right, is in her sixteenth year as school cook. She has always taken pride in the fact that she knew everyone's likes and dislikes. When first working for the school, there were about 140 students served in the cafeteria, but now there are 300 to be fed every day, which has made it necessary to have a sp1it noon hour. Mrs. Maxine Hall. center, has worked part- time for seven years, but this year is on a full- time basis. Mrs. Edna Howell, on the left, and Mrs. A. Bishop tnot in the picture are new as- sistants.
