I Boys Basketball Rapping up the season posting a 7-9 record the boys look towards next season to improve. The starting five includ- ed, jim Baker, Fred Thom- son, Dave Grant, Rob Gul- ly and Richie Altamuera. Everyone on the IV team put their all into every game. They played in a lot of very close games, losing by only a few points when the final buzzer went off. The seasons that follow show potential. All the ball players were very talented and this made it such a successful season. They had the abili- ty to play together as a team and had confidence when they went into a game. These guys learned how to win this year and we will be looking for them in future years. Varsity Boys Win Against North Brunswick 70-38 Starting off this season with a new coaching staff and new ideas, the team took a big step forward in accomplishing goals for a more aggressive style of playing. A lot of new con- cepts for defence and of- fence were introduced. More of a pressure type defense and a faster paced offence. Leadership was shown throughout the season by the seniors: tCo-Capt.j Rich Hvozdovic, fCo- Capt.j Dave Trent, Rupert johnson, Greg Davies, and Chris Nydoy. One highlight for Rich Hvoz- dovic was scoring 33 Fight for that rebound! points against Monroe. Sophmore, Tom Martin was among the Varsity ist string. The future looks bright with a lot of young players and a strong freshman team moving up. One exciting game to remember is the game against arch-rival, North Brunswick. Not only taking the win, but adding an ex- tra 32 point advantage. There were a lot of very close games only seperated by 1 point and three games lost in over- time.
