l 71 Class Hlstory As we, the Class of 1965, look back on the years we have spent in South Brunswick High School, many memorable experiences are recalled. In the Eighth Grade we entered SBHS for the first time, in awe of our strange new surroundings, and the seemingly ,all-knowing, all-powerful upperclassmen. As Freshmen, we were now able to look at the sev- enth and eighth graders disdainfully and comment on the need for their exclusion from the human race. As mature, sophisticated Sophomores, we elected officers, and began to acquire unity among the mem- bers of our class. We realized that acting as one body we could achieve many worthwhile goals. Evening in Paris, the theme of our junior Prom, grew from a rough floor plan sketch, to become the most beautiful, successful prom to be held at S.B.l-I.S. Our Senior Year represents the culmination of five wonderful years in this school. Harvey, the Senior play, Hootenanny '65, our Senior Trip, Senior Banquet, and finally Graduation, have brought happiness to each and every one of us, and perhaps a feeling of sadness, for as we receive our diplomas, we will be free to go on to higher learning. The higher learning of which college constitutes such a small part -- the higher learning that teaches one to let today embrace the future with longing and the past with remembrance . 81
