Strike Up a Tune! Music is an inspiration to the soul and is soothing to the human breast. Under the direction of Miss Frances Ballard the Music Department has given opportunity to students to develop appreciation of soul stirring compositions. While two music appreciation classes meet daily to study the fundamentals and 'history of the art, two Glee Clubs, Junior and Senior, assemble to train for public vocal performances. 10

Zooming Saws, Rapping Hammers The Industrial Arts Department, directed by Mr. Chester Hoyt and Mr. Stuart Pelling, has offered courses in metal molding, woodwork, and mechanical drawing. In the completely equipped shop the boys construct everything from kites to boats. This year a sailing rig known as the Lanteen type was built. Throughout the year the department has contributed its talents to the school by assisting in scenery designing and by building two ticket booths for the athletic field. 12
