ffaffv In Memoriam WILFRED F. KELLEY Head Master: 1930-1958 f -mimi 1 fjyffyfayffi, G r ,iff fr ff! Mn ff ,f . .W f ,f UMMW If To Mr. Kelley, South Boston High School was a symbol. To him it repre- sented the best in the activities and aspirations of young people. He saw in the school a structure which should shine as preeminently as the neighboring monu- ment which commemorates a milestone in American History. Mr. Kelley strove to instill ideals of Christianity, patriotism, and scholar- ship, and make them active forces in the lives of us all. In doing so, he realized that an understanding human relationship should always be established between the educator and those entrusted to his care and nurture. What he wrought has become a part of our school tradition. His worth as a leader was evident to the civic authorities of our community. The honors he received he accepted modestly. His interest in, and affection for, South Boston led him to stay here as Head Master rather than accept assignment elsewhere The Class of 1959 mourns the loss of one who presided over the destinies of the school for twenty-eight years. It does so with a feeling of pride and satisfaction that it had the chance to profit by his leadership-as it benefited by association with a man of such sterling character.
