The varsity volleyball team posted a 5-1 1 season record while the reserves fared 3-7 in the win-loss column. Coach Karas said the team was dedicated and played with a lot of spirit. The team worked together well and displayed fine sportsmanship. The nucleus of the team centered around five seniors: Terri Agler, Diann Baker, Sue Hartman, Terri Rhoades, and Sonnie Steiner. The senior mana- ger was Jane Schaadt. The varsity let- termen that will return next year in- clude; Renee Keller, Kathy Nussbaum, and Kelly Egly. Coach Karas presented Terri Agler with the team captain trophy and Terri Rhoades with the Most Valuable tro- phy at the fall Sports Banquet. SPIKING the ball over the net during the Bellmont game was Terri Rhoades. Terri Ag- ler and Kathy Nussbaum wait for a return. EXHIBITING her power serve, Kathy Nuss- baum scored another point in the losing battle against Bellmont. Country RACING toward the finish line from the west end of the field was the entire cross coun- try team. FOLLOWED closely by Lee Flueckiger, Maik Lehman strains to reach the finish line during the Adams Central meet. ROUNDING the last bend and headed to- ward the finish line were the Stars, racing to victory against Jay County. RUNNING with his team was the lightning fast Mr, Grogg, besting Mark Lehman by half of a second. POSTING a respectable 7 and 10 season record were the cross country team members Lee Flueckiger, Gary Coblentz, Mark Leh- man, Ted Beitler, Kent Frank, Randy Lehman, Kurt Frank and Coach Coach Grogg.

Basketball 4j?X. ' .vS% ¥ 4 MIKE, you just cannot let those other play- ers get you down. I just follow my nose when in trouble. FAKING the shoes off of his opponents, Kevin Lehman muscled toward the basket for another two pointer. Posting an impressive seven win and fourteen loss record, the varsity Stars completed the regular season and went to the sectional semi-final game before losing to Bluffton. Senior Kevin Lehman was named to the first team N.E.I.A.C. all-conference team. He lead the team with 423 total points and 194 rebounds. Randy Lehman was second in scoring with 240 points, and Wayne Bunker was third with 137 points. Coach Starks said, I think we played as close to our potential as we could. We won more than people expected us to win. We were happy to improve last year ' s record.
