Homecoming Is A October 9, 1970 was undoubtedly one of the most memorable days of the school year. For the first time. Homecoming was held in the evening under the new football lights. In honor of the occasion, it poured rain. Nevertheless, spirits remained un- dampened; the cheerleaders wore drycleaner bags, floats took on plastic coverings, queen candidates retired to cars, and the team donned towels. The evening ended with Vicki Steiner as our new queen, the seniors taking first place with Big Green, and a lot of faithful fans distraught over the defeat of the soggy, but super Starfires.
