While they were still eighth graders, the group was given a first-hand glimpse of Somerville High School at the initial Orientation Day, now sponsored annually by the Guidance Department. At the beginning of the year, they were guests of the Student Council at a closed party-dance, complete with dancing, refreshments, a magician, and other entertainment. Following tradition, the class presented the annual Frosh Talent Show for the entire student body this spring. In january, the class elected a capable slate of ofhcers to guide its activities: President, William Tullyg Vice-President, Sarah Bonhamg Secretary, Gertrude Sukg Treasurer, Virginia Creelyg Social Repre- sentative, Anne Driscoll. Miss Ethel Lux serves as freshmen class dean.
