CLASS HISTORY FELLOW CLASSMEN: In a few weeks our four years at Somerville High School shall pass into the realm of memory and nos talgia . . . There have been moments of pleasure times of toil, periods of sadness and remorse. We hope that we have taken and benefited from the best that our school has offered, and in return we sincere ly hope that our record, as a class, shall stand as an inspiring testimony to our accomplishments. What is the record? What are the accomplishments? Let us during these few moments, look back over the years As Freshmen, timid yet eager to belong, we par- ticipated whole-heartedly in all school activities. Each following his own taste and ability. The more ath- letically inclined engaging in football, basketball, baseball, track, and wrestling. Those seeking musical expression joined the various vocal groups, dance band, orchestra, and band. Still others participated in the activities of the various clubs and special organi- zations of the school We were active We sought service and cooperation and the feeling of security that comes through belonging and participation in our social world We feel that we were progressive as a class-our contributions are many We gained the Central New jersey Football championship for the first time in a great many years We also resented the school with the Somerset County Basket all League championship for the first time in that league s history Our fellow classmen have represented us in All State Band and All-State Chorus. Progress? - Certainly! Now we are graduating Seniors - our time has come to pass on our heritage to those who follow. We trust we have served well. We hope that the records we have established shall long be remembered. More- over, we wish each of the Seniors their full measure of success in any and all endeavors of the future. Sincerely, Richard L. San Giovanni
