ADMINISTRATICN- - We take this opportunity, as the first class to pub- lish a yearbook during his administration, to welcome our new supervising principal, Dr. john B. Geiss- inger. Although he has been with us but one year, we have glimpsed his effective leadership, a leadership which is sure to grow wider in scope and more potent in influence with the tomorrows to come. Capable leaders we already know in the persons of Mr. Randolf T. Jacobsen, principal, and Mr. Lawrence L. Moore, assistant principal, who have served us many years by drawing together the faculty and the student body into one harmonious whole. It is with a sense of gratitude that we thank the Board of Education, civic-minded citizens of the community, who have given selflessly of their time to provide for us today our excellent school facilities. In our tomorrows, may we take from them the in- spiration to do our part in a similar manner. Robert A. Henry, Edward C. Kane, Norman S. Greiner, Homer E. Cook, M.D., Miss Dorothy M. Herder, Allan M. The faculty shapes the personality of the school. Attitudes of the faculty directly influence the en- thusiasm and loyalty with which the students carry on their class work and activities. It is largely because Somerville High School has been endowed with a faculty so gifted that the school rates today as superior among those that have been evaluated by the Commis- sion on Secondary Education. The chief aim of the school, however, is to in- spire us, its students, to open our minds constantly to new subjects and to new ideas, whether we go on to college or accept a job. Good counciling by our teachers, a friendly approach and the ability to help us to find joy in learninggthese things determine whether or not we are to continue our education tomorrow. We have been most fortunate in having on our faculty men and women who have given to us this desire. FACULTY llff ll!
