Although we were small we soon made ourselves known. Out of our graduating class of twenty- one, fourteen attended Somerset all twelve years. Beverly Harris and Joyce Younce ioined us in the second grade, and Rosalie Robertson came in the fourth. We were really big stuff when we made the assembly. Frank Johnson came in the seventh grade. Our Junior High team was county champs. During the eighth grade Ronnie Eckman left and Larry Gentry came. We were initiated in our Freshman year and our sponsor was Miss EmmaLou Wilson. Our boys soon gained recognition on the basketball floor. Carl Lorenz came to Somerset in the Sophomore year, and Mrs. Mozelle Humbert acted as our sponsor. Joyce Younce was elected yell leader. Next came our hard-working Junior year. Our class play, Deadwood Dick, directed by Mr. Glenn Whaley was successful and we carefully planned the Junior-Senior recep- tion at Honeywell's. Mr. Carl Albaugh was our sponsor. Larry Knee was the leading county scorer and received many awards for his basketball ability. Ronnie Eckman reioined us during this year. And here we are at the top! Mr. Charles Emrick sponsored our class and Mr. Earl Conn directed our play entitled Home Sweet Homicide. Gerri Lawson was crowned Shamrock Queen.
