Guided by the leadership of this year’s co-captains Carole Colbert and Paula Messier, the varsity squad finished the year with an impressive record of 9-1- 3. With this outstanding showing and a combination of high spirits, competi¬ tive skills, and the desire to be a winning team, the Raiderettes were able to participate in the Southeastern Massachusetts State Field Hockey Tournament for the 5th consecutive year. Somerset made a fine contribution to the conference all-star team with Car¬ ole Colbert being named to the team and Sheila Rousseau named to the reserves. Starting with a young and inexperienced group, the Jayvee squad also had a very satisfying season. They proved themselves to be among the best in their division. All that is required is a large number of people that are interested in the yearbook and want to work. The first requirement is easy. The real problem is getting the people. Fortunately this staff did just that. We also take this opportunity to thank Richard LaMothe for all his efforts. The Class of 1980 has had many rewarding and successful events thanks to the help of our class officers and class advisors. We would like to wish everyone the best of luck in the future.
