FACULTY The faculty at SHS is a very special group of people. Active in the classroom, the corridors, the various clubs and organizations, they strive to meet every student halfway, not only as advisors, but as friends. This unique fellowship between faculty and students creates an atmosphere of cooperation and understanding of which Somerset is proud. An average routine consists of preparing lessons, an ex¬ hausting day of trying to reach the students, advising an activity group, attending faculty meetings, and even covering detention. These are some of the little things which often go unnoticed, but are essential to a successful school day. In the following pages we will show you our faculty in action — advising, participating, and teaching!

MR. DONALD GRIFFIN The Class of 1972 takes this opportunity to dedicate THE RAIDER ’72” to Mr. Donald Griffin. Mr. Griffin, a teacher of biology is a man of concern and sensitivity in regard to his role as a teacher at Somerset High. As a member of the faculty for many years, he has contributed to the expansion of our school and to the excellence of its science department. His warm approach to teaching is exemplary of his interest in his students. As a teacher and a man, the 1972 Raider honors Mr. Griffin for a job well done. 15
