■ A Somerset Day Consists of . . . When morning classes begin, the mood at Somerset takes on more scholastic overtimes. In 415, students watch intently as their Biology teacher traces on the blackboard a detailed structure of an animal cell. In the language lab, a recording of a native Parisian, rapidly reciting the dialog of Unit 10 is being played. The women’s liberation movement is the topic of an animated discussion in the Social Studies area. Finally, as our little tour comes to a close, a small group of art stu¬ dents are undertaking a new ' challenge of still life. This swift journey has caught all that goes on. One might well point to classes in Chemistry, Physical Education, and Math, or even to the offices of the guidance counselors, where individual conferences are going on. ■ ' ■ 4

A Somerset Day Ends With . . The end of a school clay at Somerset presents an entirely different scene. Classrooms are empty, buses are loading up, cars are leaving, hut the day at SHS is far from over. The as¬ sorted squeaks and tootles of musical instruments pervade the music room as the Blue Raider Marching Band prepares to practice for its upcoming half-time show. From the playing Fields, depending upon the season, comes the sharp, shrill sound of an umpire’s whistle, the clean crack of a bat, the fat thud of a punt, the muffled groans of players, and the intent cries of onlookers. Still elsewhere, a faculty meeting is being held and the Breeze staff is busily gathering and writing news. Finally, as the day falls into darkness, and the fields and rooms are lifeless, a Somerset dav is over. J . v -1 - . i ; 6
