B ' --N -1.-,--v V -fu ,----.1-Y 1 i f Basketball Somerset had its most successful season in basketball in years, going to the finals in the regional and losing by three points to Danville. There were twenty-four games won and seven lost. As the season progressed, the team, as a whole, developed into a hard, fast playing team. They played clean ball and were accurate in shooting and passing. Much honor and credit is due these boys who labored all season with a fighting determination to win. Thus they brought more honors to Somerset High School by Winning the district tournament and being the runner-up in the regional tournament. Although at the last of the season sickness almost wrecked the prospects of winning the district tournament, the team came through with honorsl Buster Waddle, the team captain, and George Hunter were chosen for the All-Dis- trict team, and Buster Waddle was further honored by being picked for both the All-Regional team and the All - C.K.C. team. Clarence Murphy was picked for the All-Regional and the second All -C.K.C. team. Other out- standing players on the squad were Dick Waddle, Herbert Hicks, Eugene Cruse, Lloyd Ramsey, and Lytt Noel. Although five men graduate this year, the prospects for next year are bright. 'Z'-as-e Nc : V - j Q c - -J-----..-5 g it
